9. FREE OFFER OF SALVATION
The salvation of sinners is wholly of grace through the
mediatorial office of the Son of God. Salvation is freely
available to all mankind by the preaching, reading or
hearing of the gospel. God commands all men to repent
of their sins and come to Christ for the salvation of their
souls. God, in His loving kindness invites all mankind
to receive His offer of forgiveness, grace and mercy and
gives them the opportunity to do so.
Repentance of one's sin is not moral reformation. Repentance
occurs only after admitting personal responsibility for
self-condemning actions, and turning to the Saviour. True
repentance always accompanies faith in Christ; neither is
possible without the other.
