RETURN TO TABLE OF CONTENTS

Jesus Christ holds the office of mediator for the believer.  He will return as a thief in the night at an hour or time that no man knows. He will come for His bride before the wrath of God is placed upon the world and sinful mankind. He will return again in perfect glory with His perfect bride to establish His earthly reign of one thousand years, and He will judge all creation, both the living and the dead.  He has established a place in heaven for all believers for eternity.

4. THE HOLY SPIRIT

God the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He convicts sinners of their sin and was active in all creation. He has a distinct personality possessing an intellect, emotion, will, knowledge, and a mind.

The Holy Spirit indwells the body of the believer the instant a sinner has accepted Christ as his Saviour. He also baptizes or immerses the believer into the family of God the moment a sinner is regenerated. Every born-again person is indwelt by the Holy Spirit and has been baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ. He also fills the believer for his Christian duty, such as soul-winning and service. The filling of the Holy Spirit is each individual Christian's responsibility and command.

The Holy Spirit's gifts are given to Christians only for service to the glory of God and not primarily for the glory or benefit of the recipient. They are given according to His perfect sovereign will not according to man's desire. In early apostolic days the gifts of tongues (known languages), healing and sign miracles  were given as a sign to unbelieving Israel to confirm the gospel message.
