18. GIVING OF TITHES AND LOVE OFFERINGS
Scriptural giving is one of the fundamentals of the
Christian faith. Through Scriptural giving, God provides
needed resources for the ministry of His local church and
the furtherance of the gospel message.
Christians bring tithes and love offerings to the Lord with
praise and gratitude for our gracious Heavenly Father, who
supplies all we need. Christians tithe by setting apart a
tenth of our income for God's work as commanded. Christians
bring love offerings to the local church above and addition
to that which has been already faithfully tithed in
accordance with Scripture.
Christians' giving to the Lord's work follows the giving of
themselves to Him and is done freely and joyfully. It is the
privilege and duty of each Christian to give and enjoy the
blessings that follow. |

19. CIVIL GOVERNMENT
Civil government is of divine appointment, for the interest and good
order of human society. Magistrates are to be prayed for,
conscientiously honored and obeyed, except only in things opposed to
the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the only Lord of the
conscience and the coming Prince of the kings of the earth.
